Full-time Exempt SUMMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Fulfills leadership responsibilities for the education team by:
Being responsible for the scheduling of educators and ensuring adequate coverage. Ensuring quality programming via training. Monitoring and assessing overall program experiences. As needed, assisting in the development of creative and original programs and activities based upon ICM s curriculum, using a variety of available resources. Completing and maintaining documentation and preparing reports. Marketing programs throughout the community to grow the Museum s offering. Being responsible for the oversight of equipment, curriculum boxes, inventories and designated Museum spaces. Creating an environment of success. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 2. Maintains professional knowledge, skills and competence in areas of responsibility by:
Attending staff and department meetings as required, participating in continuing education and attending conferences as approved. Reading current professional literature and journals. OTHER FUNCTIONS Adhering to ICM s mission, policies and procedures and educational goals and objectives and standards. Completing other job related duties and projects as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Demonstrates an ability to stimulate imaginative thinking and participation with children through hands-on, experiential learning. Demonstrates an ability to create and present an engaging learning experience in many different subject matters. Demonstrates initiative, creative problem-solving and good organizational and time-management skills. Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving envi
ronment. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to achieve expertise in ICM s curriculum Demonstrates ability to use technology and proficient with Microsoft Office. Ability to lift, carry and move heavy objects, use stairs and adapt to floor or table activities. Ability to commit long term. Creates an environment where positive thinking and attitudes are valued and expected. Embraces diversity. Willingness to go the extra mile. May include some evenings and occasional weekends. Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS The above level of knowledge, skills and abilities are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor s Degree in Elementary Education or equivalent informal training in education and sufficient experience in teaching or involvement in children s interactive informal programming or related experience.
